India may topple no. 2 Japan in crude steel production
KOLKATA: World crude steel production increased 5.6% to 141.4 million tonnes in September from a year earlier. India, which is tipped to topple Japan and emerge as the second-largest global steel producer, produced 8.2 million tonnes of the alloy last month, up 1.9%.
