Odisha seeks to recover Rs 20,169 crore from Mahanadi Coalfield
BHUBANESWAR: The Odisha government has sent show cause notices to the tune of Rs 20,169-crore to Coal India subsidiary Mahanadi Coalfields for alleged violation of environmental norms, its biggest claim since the Supreme Court imposed 100% penalty on illegal mining.
